Ron Paul brings anti-war theme to military-rich SC

WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) ? GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul is touting his anti-war message in South Carolina, a state with a strong military presence.

Paul told a cheering crowd in West Columbia on Wednesday that the United States should end its current wars and stop meddling in other countries' affairs. He said active military personnel are sick of wars that drain the nation's resources and hurt families.

Paul said he receives more campaign donations from active-duty military than do any of his competitors.

The Texas congressman finished second in Tuesday's New Hampshire primary. He said his libertarian message is gaining steam and warned the status quo to look out.

South Carolina Republicans vote on Jan. 21.
